OUR PROJECTS

Additional Modules

As part of the Garden Club Package, schools have the option to add on a selection of learning modules that deepen students’ understanding of food systems, sustainability, and garden stewardship. These modules offer hands-on, inquiry-based experiences that connect directly to curriculum and support students in taking meaningful ownership of their school garden. Classes can choose the modules that best fit their interests, grade level, and learning goals, allowing the garden to become not just a place to grow food, but a place to grow knowledge, leadership, and confidence.

Composting

Students learn what composting is, why it matters, and how it helps create healthy soil. Through hands-on activities, they build a compost mixture and learn how to maintain it at home or at school.

Water Conservation & Catchment

Students explore how water moves through soil and why conserving water is essential. They learn simple ways to capture, store, and use water in the garden, and create a small self-watering system.

Bees & Pollinators

Students discover how pollinators support our food systems and examine the parts of a flower. Activities may include planting a pollinator pot or building a bee habitat.

Seed Saving

Students learn how to save seeds from fruits and vegetables, how to store them, and how seed diversity supports food security. Hands-on practice includes seed collection and preparation.

Using & Storing What We Grow

Students explore food preservation, reducing food waste, and eating seasonally. Working in small groups, they create simple recipes using garden produce.

Understanding Soil

Students identify different soil types and learn how soil health affects plant growth. They test soil absorption and explore ways to improve soil naturally.
